– Compensation focus: Observe whether the company emphasizes product sales or recruitment. A healthy direct-sales company will show evidence that most revenue comes from customers, not from new-signup inventory purchases.
– Public disclosures: Responsible companies publish income disclosures or provide transparent information about average earnings for reps. If such information is hard to find, that’s a red flag.
– Reputation and reviews: Search independent review sites, consumer protection forums, and social media for consistent patterns—repeat complaints about difficulties getting refunds, product quality issues, or aggressive recruiting tactics merit caution.
– Regulatory history: Check for any enforcement actions or consumer alerts from regulatory bodies.

– Ask for a sample or small size before committing to a full-price purchase.
– Request third-party testing or ingredient sourcing information if products claim purity or potency.
– Compare cost-per-use rather than package size alone to evaluate real value.
– Avoid pressure to buy large starter kits unless a clear, written return policy exists.

– Model actual earnings: Request verifiable examples of customer sales separate from recruitment bonuses.
– Beware of inventory-loading requirements that force purchases to qualify for commissions.
– Understand cancellation and buyback policies for unused inventory.

MLM products can be high quality and provide great personal service when companies prioritize transparency and product performance.

By focusing on ingredients, evidence, pricing, and company behavior, consumers and prospective sellers can make informed choices that balance hope for benefit with practical risk management.
